Nothing
You see my eyes, they are ice blue
A brilliant facade that seems so true
Look harder, I urge you to see
One may find the blackness beneath
A child-like innocence you do see.
An angry man tired, weary of disease
A frail doll ready to break
A steel bar tempered by restraint
Watching the leaves dance by my feet
There is no beauty, I do not feel free
Shackled by thought, critical of life
Critical of all, despair is nigh
My own greatest friend
The most formidable enemy I face
I will be my own end
Accepting and embracing disgrace
Take no heed of warning
Barging through the rusted gates
Look beyond, join me in tragedy
Bohemian struggles to dismiss our fate
How many would care to contemplate?
To view the horror of infinite space.
But a speck in time we must face.
A lifetime of meaning forever misplaced.
“Oh, a lost one is he. Lost to the world.”
Who ever needed sanity? Such trivial rules!
The shadows darken, the sunlight warms my skin.
Struggle touches my soul and I awaken again.
You see me, but you do not understand.
You hear me, but my words transcend.
You face me, but I do not defend.
Nothing consumes me.
Entirely.
Completely.
With no end.
